Record players can be fairly staid affairs – after all, the music is the main attraction, not the medium, right? Wrong. Pro-Ject’s new AC/DC Turntable is about as much of a statement piece as a record player can possibly be, turning heads as much as the sweet sounds emanating from it. Its design is inspired by the classic AC/DC lightning bolt logo, with a jolting bolt-shaped base that supports its heavy red glass platter. The tonearm shares the same muse, with a jagged edge that mimics the electrifying hallmark of Australia’s most famous rock export.
