Stuart Broad produced the finest bowling spell of his career to propel England towards Ashes glory as Australia were blown away for 60 on an “unbelievable” first day in Nottingham. Broad, leading England’s attack on his
home ground in the absence of the injured Jimmy Anderson, took a staggering 8-15 to help rout the tourists in just 18.3 overs after they had lost the toss and were asked to bat first on a green-tinged pitch.
