The Knitter  |  Issue 135
Get set for spring with our new collection of lightweight layers, colourful patterns, and pretty textures! We’re celebrating the versatility of lace, and our designers have been playing with stitch patterns and shapes to create contemporary yet totally wearable garments. Our ‘Modern Lace’ collection includes a breath-taking cardigan by Jeanette Sloan, and a feminine slipover by Jennie Atkinson. We’re passionate about colour, too, so we have bright and breezy designs using Fair Isle and slip stitch patterns, including the chic ‘Quince Blossom’ cowl by Sophie McKane. We meet the Swedish designer Kristin Blom, chat with Jess James-Thomson, the hand-dyer behind Ginger Twist Studio, and discover the story of the entrepreneurial Victorian knitting writer and yarn shop owner Elizabeth Jackson. Our special supplement includes two projects by the wonderful Martin Storey: a handsome cabled sweater for men, and a relaxed jumper with pockets for women.
