THEY’VE only gone and done it! After losing the First Test 42-19, Ireland went to work like never before and last night in Wellington completed a stunning 2-1 series win over New Zealand an indignity rarely heaped upon the All Blacks.
Only twice have they ever lost a three-Test home series against another nation – South Africa in 1937 and Australia in 1986 – while, of course, there was also that defeat against the British and Irish Lions in 1971.
