JENKINS If I remember rightly, he came to the notice of Klemperer and NPO because of his LP of Beethoven’s ‘Spring’ and ‘Kreutzer’ sonatas. He was a very distinguished leader.
MARK WAKELAM I saw him lead the NPO in Birmingham Town Hall in 1969. It was the first concert I attended.
