As a new one-stop shop book-creation tool is launched, Webbo takes a look at software for self-publishing writers
During the creative process of your pet writing project, what end do you have in sight? Is it completing the work, or does it include the further step of completing the work... and then self-publishing it?
The Book Editor is a new free tool from Reedsy (sign up at https://reedsy. com/write-a-book).Self-publishing start up Reedsy launched in 2014 with its marketplace, designed to offer writers access to the freelance services they might need to self-publish a book.
The Book Editor puts the task in the hands of the book’s creator. Released inthe middle of February, it’s specifically designed to make book production easy for writers to do themselves. It’s a one-stop shop: writers can write their manuscript within The Book Editor; typeset it, formatting the manuscript as they go along, based on a choice of themes developed by professional designers; then export epub and pdf files. The final product is suitable for publication on Amazon’s Kindle Store, iBooks and other ebook retailers, and compatible with most major print-ondemand services (we’d always suggest you check first rather than find out later
