From the OTHE SIDE R OF THE DESK
Agent Piers Blofeld thinks self-publishing is not necessarily a good option for authors

AGENT OPINION
I chose to become an agent at the end of 2009. So that’s not only just as the world was entering a long period of recession, but also just as the full impact of the ‘disruption’ caused by the technology of web 2.0 began to make itself felt. Clearly I can make no great claims to being great at predicting the future.
Publishing has gone through an interesting time to say the least, although, thankfully, not quite as interesting or disruptive as film and TV, music or journalism, all of which I would argue continue to have real threats to their entire business models posed by new technology.
