ZINE SCENE
by PDR Lindsay-Salmon
The MudRoom editorial team call their zine ‘a place for you to kick your shoes off.
It’s somewhere between where you’ve come from and where you’re going’. They claim to like ‘the liminal, the dirty, the messy, and the mundane’. The team are interested in transition in the form of prose and poetry.
They believe that ‘Craft is not just a point of focus for people getting degrees. Our goal is to make the practice of writing accessible to everyone.’ Newbies welcomed.
Standard submissions are free. They publish ‘poetry of all types’ Submit by email, mud. room.submissions@gmail.com, 3-5 original, previously unpublished poems in a single doc, docx, odt or pdf file with one poem per page and eight pages being the total limit.
For prose – fiction, essays, and essays in translation – submit by email prose up to 6,000 words works in a single file.
Response time is ‘within thirty days.’ Query after two months. Payments is $15 per piece for First North American Serial Rights.
