Think of words as the bricks in your wall, says Adrian Magson. And keep stacking them up
I built a wall once, in a moment of DIY madness. It wasn’t much – a mere 24 inches tall and twenty feet long. Not so much a wall, according to a cynical neighbour, more something to trip over. It was stylish, though, with gaps at strategic locations to give the illusion of openness around a patio, and topped with white capping stones.
Sadly, it fell down due to a rubbish cement mix… or maybe too many strategic gaps. Happily no animals or passing infants were hurt, although I picked up a blood blister on a pinkie, which convinced me to leave bricklaying to the experts.
