If you are living, working or studying abroad and can write an inspirational and practical mini guide describing your experiences then you could be a winner in the twelfth annual Transitions Abroad Expatriate and Work Abroad Writing Contest. Prizes are $500, $150 and $100, with $50 for all finalists.
Entries should be original and unpublished and focus on your experiences including the practical considerations and the important physical, psychological and social adjustments you may have had to make to adapt to the people and culture of local communities. Although anecdotes are fine the personal impacts should primarily come through your descriptions and perceptions and not personal feelings.
To help others, include boxouts with important websites, publications and other practical resources you found useful in adjusting to a different culture or location.
