Here are three writing prompts for you to try
Shock
Start a story with someone in a state of shock. Someone has had a shock.
But who? And what caused it?
What happens?
How does the person respond?
What future events might be set in motion by the shock, and the person’s reaction to it?
Explore your ideas in writing to create the opening passage of a story that deals with the after-shock.
Power of 3
Write about a positive scenario involving three people.
The old cliché is that three’s a crowd, but good writing is all about dodging cliché. So for this exercise, think of or create a set-up where three people are in harmony and work together to provide a solution to an outside dilemma.
Who are your trio?
What are their individual personalities, and how do they complement each other?
What is the problem they’re facing?
