It’s both sophisticated and family-friendly

Kerry Quayle reconfigured an awkward layout in order to create a spacious bathroom, complete with feature bath and glamorous touches

Total Cost £7,486

Having conjured up room for both a statement bath and walk-in shower, Kerry was able to create a classically-inspired bathroom, complete with modern facilities and a striking monochrome scheme

Good idea!

Shutters offer a good combination of light and privacy, and are a fuss-free option in wet areas. Kerry’s may have been fitted prior to the update, but they still look as good as new.

When Kerry and Rob Quayle moved into their three-bedroom semi-detached period home in Cheshire, they knew it required serious updating. However, it was to be a further eight years before they turned their attention to the problematic bathroom. ‘After a while it’s far too easy to ignore problems, such as the lack of showering facilities, especially when there is an entire house renovation to keep you busy,’ explains Kerry. And while the couple did carry out cosmetic improvements over the years, including painting over the lurid pink walls, and fitting shutters for privacy, it was the imminent arrival of their first child, Darcie, that finally spurred them into action.
