THE CAMPAIGN to have the UK’s Spaceport sited at Machrihanish stepped up a gear this week when I hosted a reception at Westminster for MACC, and Argyll and Bute Council to put their case to a host of MPs, members of the House of Lords, as well as to the leading players in the UK space industry.

I first suggested hosting a parliamentary visit to promote Machrihanish a few months ago because I recognised that when you are so far removed from the London bubble, it can sometimes be difficult to make your voice heard.
