AFTER a closely fought final, Charles Robertson claimed the top prize in the Alex McKerral Trophy singles charity darts competition.
Played in the Argyll Arms Hotel, Southend, on Monday night, the semi-finals saw Charles up against Stephen Jordan, while Gavin McLachlan contested Jamie McGougan. Charles and Gavin made it to the dramatic final after two tight matches, with Gavin storming into a 3-0 lead, only for Charles to come back to make it 3-3, then take the deciding leg to win the trophy.
A spokesperson said: ‘The final was a fantastic match to watch with both players high scoring and high finishing, there was also some great games in the early rounds. Stephen Jordan hit a 12- dart leg which included a 180 and a 154 finish, Charles Robertson hit 180 and Gavin McLachlan a 100 finish.
