Can you describe what you currently do in the games industry?
“Since 2005, I’ve worked as a video game scriptwriter, writing stories, scripts and characters for a wide variety of games ranging from multi-million dollar AAA blockbusters to smaller indie games. I started off as the writer on the BAFTA-winning simulation The Movies, and co-writer of Black & White 2. I then became the co-writer of the sadly cancelled Kinect project Milo & Kate, which was one of the most ambitious projects I’ve ever worked on, but sadly the tech wasn’t quite up to what we were trying to achieve. After Milo & Kate was cancelled, I became the lead writer on Fable: The Journey: one of the scripts I’m proudest of in my career and my first taste of being part of a motion-capture shoot. We spent several weeks in LA filming my scripts in the same studio where they’d filmed Avatar. I was really blown away by the critical reception the writing received and it was from there that things really started to take off for my career.
