PRE-1960 MoT TESTS FALL 80%
The figures are in – four out of five test-exempt classics are no longer being put through the MoT, a drop of more than 44,000 vehicles. The number of pre-1960 classics being put in for MoT tests has dropped by 80% since exemption was brought in three years ago, Classic Car Weekly can reveal. Figures obtained from the Driver and Vehicle Services Agency – which oversees the tests in England, Scotland and Wales – show that the since the exemption for vehicles manufactured before 1 January 1960 was introduced three years ago the number of cars going in for the previously mandatory tests has plummeted.
