The 2020 British Schools & Young Shots Championship has been postponed until April 2021. The event was originally planned for 25 April this year. After the coronavirus pandemic made that impossible, it was hoped to run it in September. With uncertainty still hanging over school dates and restrictions, the decision has now been taken to postpone it until next year. It will be held at the excellent Orston Shooting Ground in Nottinghamshire, with 24 April being the provisional new date. The Clay Shooting Classic has already been postponed, and will now be held at Orston from 26-30 May 2021.
The British Schools & Young Shots Championship is the big one for individual young shots and school teams from around the country. It is renowned for highlighting emerging talent in the world of clay shooting, with previous winners including Brody Woollard, Ronnie Green and Alfie Tibbles. Last year the trophy went to Joshua Bennion, who shot a perfect 50-straight around the course at Atkin Grant & Lang.
