Amazon is to close its streaming service Freevee, which is free to use and includes adverts.
However, many of Freevee’s shows will still be available for free in Prime Video. This includes popular programmes such as Jury Duty, Bosch: Legacy, Neighbours (pictured) and Alex Rider. These will be marked as ‘Watch for Free’ on Prime Video.
The move has been expected ever since Amazon added adverts to Prime Video in early 2024. Industry analysts said it would be pointless for the company to offer two separate free video-streaming services supported by adverts.
