Virgin Media’s broadband customers will pay an extra £3.50 on their monthly bills from next April, while O2 phone customers will pay £1.80 more for airtime.
The company – now officially called Virgin Media O2 since merging in 2021 - has become the latest to introduce a flat increase after Ofcom banned firms linking price rises to the rate of inflation.
It calls the rise a new “pounds and pence structure”, saying it gives customers “even greater certainty about how their bills may change over the course of their contract” (www.snipca. com/52918).
