The self-proclaimed ‘best uninstaller for Windows’ has been updated with several new features and improvements. Uninstalr’s list of installed software now tells you the country of origin for each program, and the new Settings option in its top-right corner (see screenshot) makes it easier to customise its appearance and behaviour. When you uninstall software, Uninstalr now lets you deselect specific folders to exclude from the removal process, and warns you about getting rid of potential leftovers so you don’t delete anything important. It has also improved its detection of portable apps, including tools from Computeractive favourite NirSoft. On the downside, its scans for installed software and related data are quite slow. Uninstalr triggers a SmartScreen warning, but it’s safe to use so click ‘More info’ then ‘Run anyway’.
