We love it when computer music makers become developers, and self-confessed “total geek” Mark Underhill has done just that. He’s created a touch-screen Reason controller so your Android or iOS device can get “near no latency” control over the DAW’s mixer. “I kept adding features, so decided to make it a commercial product to see how it would go,” he tells us. JDQ Mirror is the controller’s name, and Underhill claims it can complete tasks more completely than any hardware controller. There’s a great demo on Youtube (bit. ly/JDQMirror). The app normally costs $25 (and currently just $10!).
