Clean lines, clever functionality and an expert blend of colors come together in this renovation to create a light and bright, sophisticated cottage kitchen.
Melissa and Mary decided to remove a nonfunctional pantry closet to free up more counter and cabinet storage space. “We captured some of the counter space in the corner—the toaster and coffee maker are tucked back behind the cabinet doors and have their own outlets inside,” Melissa says. For added color and texture, they opted for two different quartz countertops, as well as wood-like floor tiles, arranged in a herringbone pattern. The tile was left over from a recent renovation of the family room.
