For many, cross stitch is more than just acraft – it’s away to connect with places, memories, and emotions. Trouvaille Stitch Kits (TSK) celebrates connections to lesser-known UK landmarks through beautifully designed patterns. We spoke with Jennifer Kimmett, TSK’s creator, to find out how it all began…
It all started with adesire to stitch home. “I created the first TSK design – St Mary’s Lighthouse in Whitley Bay – for myself,” Jennifer explains. “I wanted to stitch my own piece of home, but ‘home’ wasn’t represented in modern cross-stitch designs. Most UK-based kits focus on London, which meant little to me.”
This lack of representation sparked abigger idea: people across the UK should be able to stitch places that hold meaning for them. “We have so many beautiful spots, many overlooked. Some locations suffer from ingrained negative perceptions, which can harm local communities by deterring tourism. By focusing on lesser-known landmarks, Ihope to help people celebrate their towns and discover new places.”
