NEOWISE blazes brightly over O’Brien’s Castle

This photo was taken from Inisheer, the smallest of the Aran Islands that sits in the middle of Galway Bay on the west coast of Ireland. Just after midnight on 11 July, photographer Cormac Coyne climbed up to one of the highest points on Inisheer that overlooks O’Brien’s Castle. “When I was setting up above the castle, noctilucent clouds were just beginning to form,” he said.
