TWO brothers vied for a prize named in honour of their late father at Tarbert Golf Club last Saturday.
With the Glenralloch course in superb condition despite the poor weather, members enjoyed favourable conditions, and with first-round leader Kenny MacFarlane unable to play due to work commitments, it left the door open for brothers John and Bruce Mac-Nab, who were playing together, to go head-tohead to claim the Archie MacNab Memorial Cup.
Bruce started the day five points behind and he made inroads in the first nine when he reduced the deficit to two. Both played steady golf on the back nine, with Bruce catching John on the 16th hole.
