GOVERNMENT plans to centralise the governance of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) will have no immediate implications for the Lochgilphead office.
The assurances came from an HIE spokesman following a controversial vote, in which Scottish Parliament voted against the Scottish Government’s plans to centralise the HIE board.
The motion, lodged by Donald Cameron MSP, called on the Scottish Parliament to ‘oppose the Scottish Government’s plans to abolish the board of HIE and ensure that the HIE board continues to take all strategic, operational and budgetary decisions’.
