The Eco Savvy Community has now recruited and employed six of the eight new reuse micro hub managers, with the remaining two still to be appointed.
They gathered at the Whiting Bay village hall on Monday to meet project manager Michael Gettins and three trustees for their induction training, which proved to be an inspiring, busy and exciting day.
The £63,500 project is funded by the Scottish Government, through the Climate Challenge Fund and the European Union’s European Regional Development Fund to re-use and reduce waste and minimise the carbon footprint, thereby helping to create and support what is called a circular economy in which waste is minimised and reused even more.
