Arran Mountain Rescue Team (AMRT) held its February training exercise on Goatfell last Sunday.
A quick lunch was enjoyed before the weather closed in again.
The team, including search dog Ruby and trainee search dog Caileag, headed out in mild, snowy conditions with limited visibility but when they reached the summit of Goatfell, they were treated to a superb cloud inversion offering spectacular views for a brief 20 minutes before the clag closed in around them again. After enjoying the views, the team continued on from the summit of Goatfell and onto Stacach ridge where they had the chance to practice winter scrambling skills, including setting up belays for lowering on some of the steeper drops.
