Walk to school badge design contest

A national charity has cast its net on Arran in the hunt for the next budding designers as it launches its WOW badge design competition, one of the largest design competitions for children in the UK.

Primary school aged children are asked to design a badge that can be used in the WOW challenge. WOW is the year-round walk to school challenge from Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking.

Every year more than 100,000 children take part in the competition, making it one the UK’s biggest art competitions. Of the designs received, just 11 are turned into the monthly badges with winners receiving prizes for themselves and their school, including a year’s supply of WOW resources, and the prestigious accolade of seeing their designs turned into more than 450,000 badges for use in more than 2,000 schools across the UK during the next academic year. This year’s theme is Walk the Seasons with pupils being taken on a year-round journey through autumn, winter, spring and summer - bringing to life what pupils see across the year on their journey to school.
