AN INITIATIVE that began at Anfield six years ago is spreading into the world of athletics thanks to sports benefactor Barrie Wells, writes Jason Henderson.
Box4Kids is a scheme that gives children with serious illnesses VIP treatment for a day at an event. It began at the home of Liverpool FC in 2010 with Wells putting his executive box at the ground to good use by letting sick youngsters enjoy the best seats on match day.
Now, the millionaire businessman has spread the project throughout a variety of sporting grounds and entertainment venues from rugby, horse racing and cricket to music concerts.
