THE IAAF
THE IAAF has published its entry standards for the 2017 World Championships.
Many of the standards set out have been made more difficult than for the Rio Olympics, particularly in women’s events where 12 of the 21 entry standards have been made tougher than Olympic qualification. For instance 100m sprinters must now run 10.12/11.26 as opposed to 10.16/11.32, and in the women’s high jump a 1.94m clearance is now required.
