The kindness catch up with Madeleine Shaw
Not only does this wellness warrior prove just how easy healthy living can be, she’s also attempting to be as green as possible
As a nutritional therapist, blogger, health coach, yoga teacher and a best-selling author, there’s not a lot Madeleine Shaw doesn’t know about wellbeing. And after giving birth to her son, Shay, in 2017, she now tries to live as consciously as she can to reduce her impact on the Earth and secure her son’s future on the planet. We took some time out with the health guru, to talk parenthood, planet-loving habits and plant-based food.

I first became conscious of health and wellbeing when I was 18 and I moved to Sydney for university. Sydney was a mecca for me – a city on a beach where everyone was fit, friendly and fun loving. I blossomed there – I was so inspired by how people were so effortlessly healthy. Health in Australia is a way of life, not a diet or a fad, it’s something they do every day. While I was over there I ended up getting a job cooking in an organic café. I ate there so much they gave me a job and I fell in love with cooking and learning about nutrition and food. When I started managing my polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), I had to cut out refined sugar, dairy and, in general, change my lifestyle. This is when I experienced the life-changing benefits of understanding nutrition.
