Hunting for your perfect plot can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. There are a huge number of building plots out there, and with more coming onto the market ever y day, the right one will come, but unfortunately, it ’s not likely to simply fall in your lap. Make sure you’re doing ever y thing you can during your search: research the area , get out and about and remember, perseverance is key.
CONSIDER YOUR PRIORITIES
Whatever route you take, the first thing to do is think about your priorities. Whilst it can seem useful to be open minded about what you are looking for, this can end up adding to the confusion. It is more beneficial to narrow down your requirements and focus your search, whether by geography or by type of site – are you looking for something rural, edge of set tlement or within, for example? Think about what level of risk you are prepared to take on – is a site which has never been built on before, and is therefore riskier, the right one for you? Or would land with planning permission or a building for replacement be a safer option? Cost is linked to these issues and has to be considered in the process. A more dependable site might be pricier, but would potentially be delivered in a more timely fashion, so think about where the balance is right for you.
