What are SIPs?
Structural insulated panels are a strong, solid component offering the benefit of precision, as all the insulation and sheathing are ‘glued’ together in a factory. “This means SIPs can deliver better airtightness as standard, compared to timber frame,” says Ian MacCarthy from Timber Innovations. “These are neat, clean sandwich panels with an insulated spine to help eliminate thermal bridging.”
