Merger of two Kintyre GP medical practices scrapped

The plan for Campbeltown Medical Practice (CMP) to take over Kintyre Medical Group (KMG) has fallen through.

Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), which had been working towards forming a federated practice, was informed last week by CMP that it will not be progressing with the plan.

Most GP practices in Scotland, including CMP, are run by a consortium of GPs, but a small number, such as KMG, are run directly by the local health board.
