An extra £2.4million spend on social work services has caused Argyll and Bute Council to predict an overspend for 2018/19 of £3m.
Just a third of the way through the financial year a report considered by the authority’s policy and resources committee reveals the predicted figures.
An overspend of £350,000 on education, due to increased demand for additional support needs (ASN), and an additional £83,000 being spent on customer services relating to cleaning and catering, is also forecast.
