THE former chief of an international actuarial firm who retired to Carradale is to step down from East Kintyre Community Council (EKCC) and Windfarm Trust.
Stuart Irvine, who ‘retires’ from EKCC at the end of March, returned to Scotland in 1985 and took up residence in Carradale, a village to which he had connections and where the family regularly spent summer holidays.
He was soon involved in many activities in the village, such as EKCC, the golf club, drama, Network Carradale, Clyde Fishermen’s Association, Abbeyfield and Saddell and Carradale Church, the latter being first in the choir and later as organist.
