Camping  |  September
We spent last weekend on a very nice, family-friendly
campsite by the Norfolk coast. The sun was shining, birds
were singing and, as Mrs D and I pitched our tent, kids
were pottering around by the duck pond. All was good with the world.
And then, somewhere on the site – it may have been the caravan
section, just saying – some “lads” decided to wind up their mate.
Whatever they did to him, matey did not like it one bit, and decided
to let his pals, and the rest of the campsite, know it. For a good 10
minutes, he was loudly effin’ and jeffin’, with no regard for who was
around to hear it.
The question is, what do you do about behaviour like this? My
instinct would be to challenge it, but then you run the risk of getting
into a nasty confrontation. Should you report it to the park wardens?
Or is it best to just ignore it and hope it goes away?
As it turns out, on this occasion, it petered out before we could work
out where it was coming from, so any potential conflict was averted.
Thankfully, incidents like this are very rare, but I'd love to hear your
thoughts on how to handle them. Drop me a line or look us up on social
media and share your views. I'm pleased to say, it didn't spoil our trip at all. The sun carried on shining and we had a great weekend!
