In 2019, veteran BBC Radio London DJ Gary Crowley’s first volume of forgotten 80s songs was one of the year’s finest compilations, finally allowing everyone to realise how great Intaferon, Paul Quinn and A Craze were, among lesserknown Spandau, Wham! and Culture Club songs. This second volume should be operating on the law of diminishing returns. However, that’s definitely not the case here. Crowley’s first volume was partially a mopping-up exercise of ignored gems like Fashion and Carmel that most true 80s music devotees already knew. Second time around, Crowley is having to dig deep.
