Jesus Jones were a vital presence in giving music of the early 90s its own definition, prefaced by this noisy and hugely enjoyable debut album. Categorised as a fusion band thanks to the combination of earbashing guitars with electronic rhythms and samples, as well as Mike Edwards’ passionately shrill vocals, the Wiltshire quintet found its audience with Info Freako and Never Enough, two big, disruptive singles that each peaked at No.42.
Elsewhere, the danceability factor hits with tracks like the funky Bring It On Down and half-cheesy opener Move Mountains, while The Real World is blessed with a squelching house bassline and textbook sampling. Album closer Someone To Blame just completely rocks.
