OBITUARY PAUL CATTERMOLE
7 MARCH 1977 – 6 APRIL 2023
Paul Cattermole, who topped the charts as a member of S Club 7, has died aged 46.
Cattermole was a member of the group from their formation in 1998 until quitting the group in 2002. He’d recently rejoined his former bandmates and was set to embark on a 25th anniversary tour.
One of the most successful pop acts of the late 90s and early noughties, S Club 7 notched up 11 Top 5 singles in the UK. Their debut LP, S Club, went to No.2 on home soil, while its follow-up, 2000’s 7, topped the album charts. They also won Best British Breakthrough Act at that year’s BRITs and later scooped the Best British Single award for their chart-topper Don’t Stop Movin’ in 2002.
