If you didn’t know the name Lucy Bronze before the Women’s World Cup, you definitely know it now. The 23-year-old Manchester City right-back kicked her way into our hearts with a stunning goal from the edge of the box to beat Norway 2-1, sending England through to the last eight in the competition for the first time in their history. Following the game, Lucy said: “The more and more I watch it, I’m in disbelief that it was me that scored it. It’s not a Lucy Bronze goal, I guess.” It might not be a Lucy Bronze goal but it’s definitely a Lucy Gold(en) goal, and you’re an inspiration to us. Well done!
