WE WERE THERE
We had such a wonderful time at Tipping The Velvet, and not just because we were surrounded by sapphic sisters. Laura Wade’s imaginative adaptation was superbly directed by Lyndsey Turner, and we think they did a fantastic job of bringing Sarah Waters’ classic novel bang up to date. The best thing we’ve seen at the theatre for ages, Tipping The Velvet, which will be finishing its two-week run in Edinburgh as this issue goes on sale, is a must-see, and we think it definitely deserves a West End run, if only so we can hear that fantastic score again.
