People often tell me I was born in the wrong era. This is probably because my vintage fashion style can be summed up as 1950s lesbian pulp fiction pin-up meets granny chic. I have an actual record collection full of lady-loving crooners like Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith and Dusty Springfield. My go-to film genre is sapphic period drama – think Carol, The Favourite, and basically any movie featuring longing, furtive glances between women wearing bonnets. In my relationship, my celebrity free pass is Anne Lister. My dream night out is to London’s Gateways, the legendary lezzie bar that ran from the 1940s to the mid-eighties. And I’m forever re-reading Sarah Waters. (What can I say? Her novels really tip my velvet.)
