Fasten your seatbelt for the return of critically acclaimed crime noir Marcella, back this month for a second series. The story, from the writer of The Bridge, begins with a grim discovery; the body of a young boy found inside a wall who turns out to be a friend of Marcella’s (Anna Friel) son, Edward. But with DS Backland unravelling, slipping in and out of terrifying and violent fugue states, can she keep control and find the person responsible for his abduction and murder? Dark, disturbing and deliciously addictive, if the first series is anything to go by, Hans Rosenfeldt will keep us guessing until the bitter end.
