It was the year it became fashionable for world leaders to openly support LGBT issues including, but not limited to, samesex marriage. Obama, Hillary Clinton, Julia Gillard and Australia’s latest new Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, suddenly, and coincidentally, decided now was the time to act.
