Last autumn I happened upon an empty clock case in a garage sale. It had a bit of vintage charm, 16 inches tall, 9 inches wide, and 5 deep. Nothing extraordinary, but it definitely caught my eye. The kind gentleman accepted my meagre offer of £3.
Having no idea how I would use it I tucked the case away in a corner. Several months later, while browsing the internet, I saw a photo of the magnificent, mythological Trevi fountain in Rome.Yes, this is it, I thought, an ancient fountain, the inspiration I was looking for. I knew mine would not be an exact copy but, using the clock case as a starting point, I would incorporate some of the elements and design my own miniature fountain scene.
