Among the more fun psychology and neuroscience practical experiments I was involved with at university were those investigating the limits of human perception. Unlike the worthy but extremely dull lectures on membrane potentials in neurones, these saw us putting on headphones to see how high a pitch we could hear, or taking visual tests like those at opticians, to measure how fine we could see.
