The new index features over 900 million names
The 52,429 records relate to Ealing just before World War I, covering the towns of Acton, Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell, Northold, Perivale and Southall, as well as the area of Hayes, Norwood and part of Hammersmith. The area’s ‘queen of the suburbs’ label relates to the fact that it was once halfway between city and country.
