Christian iddon

Por those of you wondering, the garden project is finished. Well, that’s not strictly true. It’s not finished at all, but my inclination to do any more is. To be honest, watching the seeds I put down, slowly but surely tum a muddy bit of garden into nice green grass, is genuinely one of the most exciting things that’s been occurring lately! Yep, it really has got that bad! I’ve also taken on a bit of a part-time job with my mate doing tree work. I’ve worked on and off with him for years, but this last month I’ve done a bit more. It’s really helped to fill the time over the last month or so and basically stopped me from sitting at home moping around and wishing I was out on my bike. It’s kept my mind occupied and I’ve enjoyed the graft, as is usually the case. It’s nice that I get to work with my mates. I’m pretty fortunate in that respect. AI:, ever, I’ve been flat out on the bicycle, too. The weather has been absolutely unreal lately so I’ve been getting out every morning before brekkie to put in some graft. So many of the BSB paddock are getting mega active on Strava at the moment. I think as we get nearer to something occurring again there is a bit of a secret competition on the go to see who can put in the most sessions. It’s ramping up to something crazy.

Not that I’m at all competitive or anything, but I’ve been making sure that any ’secret' competitions there are, I want to be winning. I’ve clocked up just over 2,100km this month on the pushy and getting on for just over 800km this week. My tan lines are totally on point right now! Also, if you are wondering why I work in km, it’s because it sounds way bigger than miles. I follow the same method of thinking with cm and inches (eight sounds so much bigger than five) but anyway, I digress.

I’ve actually managed to pick up a new sponsor for the pushy. Italian firm Guerciotti have stepped in and I have a brand new bike winging its way to me as we speak. I have a thing for fluo yellow so naturally you will all be able to see me coming on the new carbon speed machine. As for this ’thing' that is still going round. Well, I really feel like the clouds are starting to clear. I can feel it and see it all around. Looking forward is becoming easier and easier. At the time this goes to press I think there may be a bit more info than what I have right now, but at the time of writing the track days have just started back up and MX tracks have done the same. Not only that, but loads of other sport is finally getting going.
